Our Katadyn Water Purification filters, the Drip and the Combi, include filtration elements that are cleanable and will serve for a considerable length of time, but we think it is prudent to plan ahead for their replacement. You may want to order Katadyn replacement elements at the same time as you initial order for a Drip or Combi, so you have thm on hand when you need them.

Replacement Ceradyn Ceramic Element
for Katadyn Drip Water Purification System

Although the Katadyn Drip Water Purification System comes with 3 Ceradyn silver impregnated cleanable ceramic elements that can be cleaned repeatedly and will serve 1-6 people for up to 39,000 gallons of quality drinking water, we recommend including replacement filter elements in your planning, especially if your unit will be serving more than 6 people. Unopened and unused, the shelf life of a replacement ceramic element is just about forever.

Replacement Filter Element
for Katadyn Combi Multifilter

The Katadyn Combi utilizes a silver impregnated ceramic filter element that can be used alone or in combination with a separate cartridge element of granulated activated carbon to reduce chemicals in the water. The ceramic element can be repeatedly cleaned and will serve 1-4 people for up to 13,000 gallons, the activated carbon granules have a limited capacity and will be effective for a shorter time once exposed to water. We recommend including replacements for both in your planning: one ceramic element (retail value $74.95) and a twin pack of the foil-sealed activated carbon granules (retail value $8.95). Unopened and unused, the shelf life of both is just about forever.
